Show f Power Federation ioins forces with ICPA to obtain benefits from low cost hydro-electric power through the Colorado River Storage Project. The Southwest Utah Cooperative Power Federation has now joined forces with the In-termountain In-termountain Consumer Power Association (ICPA) brining '. in an additional 20 cities to the 35 member organization. The Federation is in its third year of operation for the purpose of providing pwoer sources to the 20 cities and to help them in setting up their own municipal electric .: uitility. The Federation is also moving forward with condemnation con-demnation suit aimed at obtaining CP National's electric system which serves the 20 cities in Southwestern Utah. Carl Palmer, Federation President, says, "We are hopeful we'll be able to take occupancy of the system so as to better serve consumers and in time have complete control over our power rates." The Federation is a member of a unique organization because it combines both municipal utility interests and electric cooperative interests. ICPA provides engineering work at cost and allows the members to join a power pool which will bring about monetary benefits for the pool and individual members. ICPA was formed in 1957 |
