Show Nancy Adams selected to Pageant r Nancy Adams, daughter of Ray H. Adams of Parowan has been selected as a cast member for the upcoming "Hill Cumorah Pageant" to be held in Palmyra, New York July 25, 26, 29, 30, 31, and August 1, and 2. Miss Adams was selected from hundreds of applicants from across the United States and Canada to perform per-form in the world famous pageant, which was termed "America's most elaborate religious Pageant" by the New York Times. She is a 1977 graduate of Parowan High School and has just completed her third year at SUSC where she is an English Literature major. During her schooling she has been active in music and theatre as well as i academics. Her most recent vocal achievement was playing the role of Frasquita in SUSC's 1980 performance of CARMEN. As a member of the LDS Church she has filled such calling as choir director, chorister and teacher. In addition to performing in the Cumorah Pageant she will be directing a 40-voice women's choir in one of the company firesides, singing a solo in a fireside, and acting as a tour guide in the Hill Cumorah Visitor's Center. NANCY ADAMS The Pageant draws over 100,000 viewers annually, according to Marvin : R. Curtis. President of the New York Rochester Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Performances Per-formances begin nightly at nine. The outdoor Pageant unfolds on 25 stages by a cast of over 600 who voluntarily donate their time to par-, par-, ticipate. A five-track sound system has been composed by Dr. Crawford Gates, conductor of the Beloit (Wisconsion) Symphony Orchestra. |
