Cooley, president of Piper Hydro Solor System, Utah Solar Corporation; Cor-poration; Cooley had reference to the in-stalation in-stalation of two energy centers which are being installed at El Rey Motel in Cedar City. The two Units are designed to j provide space hitting and hot water for the 70 unit motel as well as heating the swimming pool. The Knells, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Knell and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Knell, owners and operators of El Rey Motel indicate that the high cost of energy forced them to look at alternative sources. "We anticipate, based on information given us by the Pioer . Hydro Systems, that we will reduce our power bill from 65 to 80 percent through this installation." The two energy centers are composed com-posed of 12 and 15 collectors, respectively. Also housed in the centers, which have been installed on the roof of the motel units, also in- . eludes the mechanical apparatus necessary for the system to function. It houses a boiler, storage tanks and a pump. "Maintenance is minimal," Cooley stated. Installation is expected to be completed early in July. Financing for the solar project has been through First Security Bank, Cedar City Branch, the Knells indicated. The solar energy system is the first to be installed in a commerical facility in Cedar City, it was indicated. |
