Monday they had a fashion show at the home of their lea-der, Mrs. Leah Huff, where the girls modeled their skirts, scarves ,and sewing kits made this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Norton of Provo, formerly of Spring-vill- e have returned from a two weeks trip to the pageant at Hill Cumorah New York, i'hey went by train to Chicago where they visited their son and daughter-in-la- Merlin and Jane Norton and two boys Howard and Mike. They ac-companied the Norton family to Canada, Niagarra Falls and to see the pageant at Palmyra, where they also visited many places of chur;ch history. Gordon George Beardall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bird Bear- - dall of Mapleton will be wel-comed home form the North-east British LDS mission Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Mapleton ward church. After being released Elder Beardall spent a month tour-ing Europe and the states. He served under President Grant S. Thorn. Dance teacher back from Calif. Mrs. Jerry (Christine W.) Ollerton was returned to Spr-ingvil-from Idylewild, Calif., where she has spent two weeks as an assistant instructor of creative dance for Virginia Tanner of the University of Utah. Her husband, accompanied bv David St rnnc wpnt rlmxm to California to get her and they spent the weekend touring Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and other points of interest. During her stay in Calif., Mrs. Ollerton who went to the coast on a full scholarship danced in two peri'ormances of the production, "Woman, the Pioneer," put on by Miss Tan-ner and in which 32 from the University of Utah performed. Mrs. Ollerton, assistant in-structor with the U. of U. Lenore Crandall makes wedding plans with I. K. Holt of Idaho Wedding bells will ring the latter part of this month tor Miss Lenore Crandall, charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Crandall of this city who will be married to Ivan K. Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan W. Holt of Oak-ley, Idaho. The marriage will take place in the Idaho Falls, LDS lemple, Friday, August 23 and the following evening, Aug- ust 24, an Open House will be given for the couple at Uakley. A wedding reception is being planned for August 27, in the Third-Nint-h ward church and the couple will leave, shortly after to make their home in California, where both will be teaching school. Both are graduates of Brigham Young University and nave hlkd LDS missions. Lenore returned Monday of this week from the French-Eas- t LDS mission field and Mr. Holt from vvrrZ LDS miSsin in Uruay- - He gduate Thursday, August 22. They will make their home in Heyward, Calif, where Lenore taught a year before going on a mission. (doming. uents Roach reunion The family of William and Ruth James Roach will hold a family reunion Sunday, Aug. 18 at noon at Kelleys Grove. All family members are asked to bring their own lunch, group sheets and pictures. Mrs. Jack Bird is club hostess Bonne Amitie club members were guests of Mrs. Jack Bird at her home Wednesday even-ing of last week. The group visited and played games and aleo enjoyed a nicely arranged luncheon. Special guest at the party was a former club member, Mrs. Georgia Boyer, who was visiting here from Newark, Calif. Crih Corner Boy, to Lt. Russell and Gen-i- el Ashcraft Sly, Aug. 2, at Mildenhall, Norfolg, England. The new baby is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ash-craft of Springville. Family together for reunion Members of the family of Mrs. James Stevenson gather- ed at the Lee Ranch in the left hand fork of Hobble Creek canyon for a reunion Sunday. A picnic lunch was enjoyed and the remainder of the after-noon spent in visiting with games and other recreation for the children. Forty four people were in attendance including 13 grand-children, 22 great grandchild-ren and one great great grand-child. The four daughters and their husbands present, are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee, Springville; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas, Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ler-we- ll and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carter of Provo. Graduates Miss Vicki KUlpack, daugh- ter of Mrs. Ardis Killpack, of this city, is a member of the first dental assistants class at Utah Trade Tech-nical Institute who received graduation certificates last week. |
