Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bleak and jliss Eleanor Bleak returned last jyjday to Los Angeles after visiting visit-ing for ten days with their grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Susie Atkin and other relatives. " Miss Myrtle Henderson arrived ar-rived last Friday from Salt Lake City to resume her work at the pixie junior college. Coach and jlrs. Tolman also returned last week. Mrs. Ray B. Young and daughter, daugh-ter, Emma, of Kanab, motored to St. George Sunday, Miss Youn remaining to enroll at the Dixie junior college. While here they visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard McAllister. Mc-Allister. Miss Edna Snow arrived in St. George Wednesday to visit her mother, Mrs. Alice Snow and other relatives before returning to resume hef teaching at Provo. She was accompanied by Miss Ef-fie Ef-fie Warnock who is guest while here of Mrs. B. Jarvis, a former school friend and companion. Miss Edith Gillespie, guest of Miss Evelyn Empey for the past month, returned Sunday to her home in Los Angeles. Mrs. Wm. Layton, the former Edna Brink of this city, and her son, Lloyd, passed through St. George last week to Main Street, Ariz., where Mrs. Layton is employed em-ployed to teach school for the present year. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bowler of this city over the Rodeo Ro-deo week were Mr. and Mrs. Sie-gel Sie-gel Walton of Eunice, N. M. Mrs. Walton was the former Bessie Korns of this city. On Sunday the two couples with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Leigh motored to Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Zion National park for a picnic outing out-ing and fishing. The Waltons left for home Tuesday. Mrs. Sam King motored to Las Vegas and Boulder Dam Wednesday. Wednes-day. She was accompanied by Elizabeth Dedekind. Ada Cottam Pace and daughter Cora Morgan, both of Price, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Matis of Chicago Chi-cago visited over Sunday and Monday at the home of Sheriff and Mrs. Antone B. Prince. Mrs. Matis is also a daughter of Mrs. Pace. They were here to see Mrs. Pace's mother, Mrs. Racel Cottam Cot-tam and attend Temple sessions. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Burton and two children of Idaho Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Neilsen and three children of Los Angeles Ange-les were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Neilsen of this city. Mrs. Burton and Mr. Neilsen Neil-sen are brother and sister. While here another sister, Mrs. Archie Tobler of Washington entertained the entire family at a birthday anniversary honoring their father, John T. Neilsen. Mason Cottam, Helen Seaman and Jean Cottam motored in from Kanab where they are teaching, to spend Saturday and Sunday. Miss Nan Esplin of Orderville is in St. George for the winter. Miss Naomi Fordham was home over Sunday from Mesquite, Nev., where she is -teaching. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Kemp motored down from Holladay to spend the week-end with relatives rela-tives and attend the Rodeo. Their daughter, Lucile, who has been in St. George for the past three weeks, returned with them. Miss Leone Holt is home from Provo for an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Holt, while recuperating from a recent appendectomy. Walker Eugene Roberts and Miss Nana Kenney, both of Cedar City, were married in the St. George Temple Wednesday. Mrs. Stanley Wanless, daughter Vivien and son, Stanley Jr., left Sunday for Salt Lake City and other northern points where they will visit for several days before returning to their home in the east. They have spent the past month with relatives in St. George, Las Vegas and California. Preston Whitehead accompanied them as far as Salt Lake City, where he will enter the L. D. S. mission home for training, leaving leav-ing later for the southern states mission. . Zora Jarvis returned early Monday Mon-day from Salt Lake City where she has spent the past two weeks. Before returning she attended on Sunday the funeral services for her sister, Ethel Snow who died at her home in Salt Lake City Friday. Smith Johnson, Terry Chides-ter, Chides-ter, A. Judd and Blaine Johnson were St. George visitors from Kanab Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Slade and son, Larry, left Monday for their home in Demming, N. M., after spending the week visiting relatives in St. George, guests at the home Attorney and Mrs. L. H. Cox. Gussie Jensen left last Friday for her home in Mesquite, Nev., after ten days in the local hospital. hos-pital. Mrs. Louis Pectol was hostess Wednesday afternoon to the Bridgettes, honors going to Mrs. Grant Whitehead and Mrs. Wil-lard Wil-lard Milne. Mrs. Lawrence Edwards and daughters, Mary Ann and Deanna of Ogden were guests last week of Mrs. Ireta Westcott, whose daughter, Gada Marie returned with them as far as Richfield. Gada has been visiting her mother mo-ther the past three weeks. Jacob Lee left for his home in Virgin Monday after several days in the local hospital. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Milne arrived ar-rived from Whittier, Calif., Saturday Sat-urday evening to visit until Friday Fri-day with Mr. and Mrs. Jos. J. Milne. On Tuesday the two couples left for a two-day trip to Grand canyon. |
