Show Special Bishop's Meet Called For Salt Lake City SALT LAKE CITY, Utah., Sept. A special meeting of all ward Bishoprics has been called for October 3, 1940, for a full day Preceding the semi-annual General Gen-eral Conference. Sessions have been arranged with approval of the First Presidency to consider church procedure in new buildings, build-ings, remodeling, beautification, finance, accounting system, and activities of the Aaronic Priesthood. The first meeting will commence com-mence at 9:00 a.m., in the Tabernacle, Tab-ernacle, Bishop LeGrand Richards Rich-ards presiding. Speakers at this session will be President J. Reuben Reu-ben Clark Jr., President David O. McKay, Bishop M. O. Ashton, and Bishop Joseph L. Wirthlin. An illustrated lecture by Irvin T. Nelson and George W. Ashton will conclude the morning program. pro-gram. In the evening a reception will be given for the visiting bishops, their counselors, the stake presidencies, presi-dencies, the High Council, and other invited guests, with their wives, at the Hotel Utah commencing com-mencing at 8:00 p.m. Bishop LeGrand Richards is quoted as saying, "Because so many wards have been organized, so. many changes in ward bishoprics bishop-rics during the past year or two, we feel that we would like to meet with all bishops and their counselors to get getter acquainted acquaint-ed and give both of us a better understanding of each other's work." |
