Eay Gardner Gard-ner before reluming to his home in Vernal. Mr. Gerber is -Mrs. Gardner's father. Mrs. William Miller arrived home during the week from Los Angeles, California, where she has been for the past six weeks visiting her daughters, Mrs. Adrian D. LeBaron and Miss Berniece Miller. Dr. and Mrs. James M. Grant attended at-tended L. D. S. conference in Salt Lake City Sunday. Dr. Grant in company with Vern Holindrake and W'ilford S'forrs attended a special session ses-sion for Sunday School stake super-intendencies super-intendencies that afternoon. Mrs. Willis Fredericks, Mrs. Lawrence Lawr-ence McCandlass, Mrs. J. N. Anderson of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Young of Pleasant Grove, attended the funeral services of Mrs. Elmer Sweat, held in Heber Thursday. Bishop and Mrs. James G. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen of Ilyrum, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ray Gardner left Saturday night. Mr. Gardner worked in the Bishopric with Bishop Christensen before coming to American Ameri-can Fork. Mrs. George Meredith and Mrs. James Hallsey entertained the First Ward Primary officers and teachers Friday: afternoon at the Meredith home. A business and preparation meeting was held, after which social diversions were enjoyed. A delicious luncheon was served to nineteen. The First Ward Sunshine committee commit-tee entertained Friday in honor of Mrs. Jane Grystall at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. R. Greenwood. A program was enjoyed, after which refreshments re-freshments were served. An enjoyable time was reported, Hugh Cheever and Wendell Bush of this city, and Miss Jensen o Cres- j.ccnt, motored to Salt Lake Tuesday evening, where they visited with Miss Nona Brown, who is at the St. Marks Hospital recovering from a recent j operation for appendicitis. The G. A. Club met at the home of Mrs. W. J. Chadwick -Wednesday evening. An interesting selection of recipes was given by Mrs. Rudolph Konold. A cornet solo was given by Fay Chadwick accompanied by Miss j Edith Chadwick. Mrs. Rudolph Clark gave a talk on the "Brooding of Chickens." Following the program, a delicious lunch was served to ten. Monson of Bingham Bing-ham Canyon, were Sunday visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Baker. Joseph K. Nicholes, William Bent-ley, Bent-ley, J. E. Snow, County Agent Smith, Mrs. Lund and Mrs. Paxman of St. George called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nicholc-- Monday enroute to their home, al'ler attending L. D. Miss Bar-pet Bar-pet I is a nurse at the Rigby Hospital at Uexburg. She was formerly connected con-nected with the hospital here. Mrs. Dell Singleton entertained at a prettily arranged dinner party Sunday Sun-day aflernoon at the Grant Hotel complimentary to the birthday anniversaries an-niversaries of her husband, Mrs. Bon Mofl'ett and Mrs. J. L. Mowers. A cryslall howl of lavender sweet peas formed an attractive centerpiece for the table. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Ben M'ofCett, Mayor and Mrs. Roy Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steele, and Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mowers. Mow-ers. Following the dinner, the party motored to the home of Mayor Greenwood, Green-wood, where L. D. S. conference was enjoyed over the radio. That evening, the group enjoyed "In Old Arizona," a Vitaphone picture, at the Paramount Para-mount theatre, Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Olsen of Salt Lake City, announce the arrival of a line baby boy born last Friday. Mrs. Olsen was formerly Miss Jennie Dol-mar Dol-mar of this city. Mrs. Abe Gudniundsen and Mrs. Thomas Coddington were the delegates dele-gates from the local chapter of the Daughters of the Pioneers at the State convention held last Friday in Salt Lake City at the Hotel Utah. Eugene Nicholes gave a most interesting in-teresting lesson on "Ancient Geneolo-gy" Geneolo-gy" before the Adult Senior Class of the First Ward Mutual Tuesday evening. even-ing. There was a large and appreciative apprecia-tive audience in attendance. Felt A. Golden of Stockton, Utah, spent the week-end here with Mrs. Golden and Mr. - d Mrs. H. D. Wild. Mrs. Golden and baby accompanied him home Sunday evening, after a several days visit here. . . Mrs. Rose H. Grant returned home Sunday from Gunnison, where she has been visiting for the past several weeks. Her daughter, Mrs. Lorena Peterson, and four sons accompanied hor home. They will make their future residence in American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes entertained en-tertained at a 'radio party Sunday afternoon. L. D. S. conference was enjoyed by the following guests: Mrs. Clara K. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nicholes and family and Miss Sarah Nicholes. After working forty years for the Chipman Mercantile Co., Johnnie Woods tendered his resignation during dur-ing the past week. It is announced that he will make his future home with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Coddington. Codding-ton. Mr. Woods has been a most faithful employee at the Mercantile Co., and has worked steadily, having enjoyed no vacation or layoff whatsoever what-soever during this time. He has won hosts of friends through his congenial services and cheerful disposition, who will miss him at the establishment. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dye and Miss Lillie Shatter motored to Salt Lake City Sunday, where they attended the Capitol theatre. lJohn Mills underwent a serious operation at the Lehi Hospital Monday.
