Show Gold Star Mother I Answers Last Call Mary Driggs Robison, 74, daughter of pioneers, Shadrack and Eliza Driggs, passed away at her home Thursday morning from old age and general debility. She was a Gold Star Mother having sent two sons to the late World War, one of whom died in France. She also sent a son to the Spanish-American war. She was the first child born in the Lindon ward, the date being, January 23, 1855. On June 2, 1873 she was married to Louis R. Robison, who passed away in 1917. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Old Folks committee for many years and an active church worker all of her life. At the time of her death, she was the Literary class leader lead-er in the First Ward Relief Society. She has been a Relief Society teacher for many years. She was the mother of seven child- ren five of whom survive as follows: Millie R. Poulson, Ella R. Williams, Rhoda R. Stagg of Pleasant Grove, John L. Robison of Yakami, Washington, Washing-ton, and Harold D. Robison working for the government in the Department of Foreign and Domestic Commerce at Shanghai, China. Twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Robinson has lived alone in her comfortable little home on Depot street, and had one of her grandchildren grand-children stay with her at nights, for the past many years. Tuesday morning morn-ing she complained of not being in the best of health. Her daughter, Mrs. Millie Poulson came and remained remain-ed at her mother's side until death took her Thursday. To her friends she has seemed like a frail piece of rare china, for the past few years. She was a wonderful mother and home maker, loved by her neighbors and her many friends. Funeral services will be held at Sunday, April 14, at 12 o'clock in the Timpanogos Stake Tabernacle. n |
