Show ALPINE NEWS Mrs. L. Bates, Reporter. Mrs. Leon J. Strong entertained the Happy Dozen at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week. The usual activities ac-tivities were engaged in, after which a dainty lunch, was served. Among those who attended L. D. S. conference in Salt Lake from Alpine were: Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Vance, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark, George E. Burgess and Mrs. Clarence Burgess. Mrs. Ernest Clark and Mrs. Joseph E. M'oyle attended the state convention conven-tion and banquet of the Daughters of the Pioneers in the Hotel Utah last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Marsh and little daughter, May Rene, arrived home' Saturday night 'after a three weeks trip to Kansas City and surrounding sur-rounding points where they went to meet their son, Elder Thirl Marsh, who has been laboring in the Central States mission for the past 31 months. They also visited with their daughters, daught-ers, lone and Cleone, who are em-, ployed in Kansas City. Elder Thirl Marsh went on to Salt Lake, where he attended conference arriving home Monday evening. He reports that although al-though he is very glad to be home again he enjoyed his mission very much and hated to leave. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cleghorn are the proud parents of a fine baby boy, which arrived at their home Sunday. Mother and baby are doing nicely. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Strong this week are Mrs. Strong's mother and sister, Mrs. Fred Merrill and Miss Beth Merrill of San Francisco, California. R. P. Carlisle returned home Tuesday after a visit of several weeks in California. His daughter, Vera, accompanied him home for a short visit. The following young people enjoyed enjoy-ed a social at the home of Miss Hilda Bates Sunday evening: Zora Healey, Asenath Movie, Thelma Peterson, M'aerose Carlisle, Mary Bates, Byron Holt, Pete Holt, Louis Robison, Roy Strong, Joseph Bateman and Ray Marsh. |
