Show Proclamation American Fork during the last five years have established a civic beautifying and general clean-up program pro-gram to enable the people to make our city a place delightful in which to live and attractive to all who may come into our midst. In conformity with this plan and in keeping with the recommendations of the State Board of Health, I, Roy Greenwood, Mayor of American Fork City, do hereby designate the week commencing Monday, April 15th, and continuing until Saturday night, April 20th as a general clean-up week, and I do hereby recommend and urge that the week, or as much thereof as may be possible be occupied in the general clean-up of individual homes, outbuildings out-buildings and grounds, that old cans, dry weeds and other refuse and litter be removed, also that fences and other outbuildings be repaired and where possible painted that our homes may present a more attractive appearance. In connection with this week and as a part thereof I do especially urge everyone to plant trees, shrubs, vines or flowers, that the work of city beautification may carry on. For the general clean-up of the city I do hereby proclaim Monday, April 15th, 1929 a holiday and do recommend that all business houses of the city will be closed on that day that the people may all participate par-ticipate in the general clean-up program pro-gram which is to be undertaken under und-er the direction of committees.
