The ordinance ammending Chapter 10 of the revised Ordinances of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City, relative to the city cemetery, by adding to and including in said chapter one new Section No. 70 XI having passed its third reading, was adopted. Mr. Moore reported that he had obtained a copy of the rules and regulations which were being used by the American Fork cemetery, and that he had met with the committee commit-tee and Sexton and gone over them and made the changes necessary to meet our own conditions. Councilman Moore made a motion I ffiici1 carried that the city assume 5 tjje delinquent improvement and "l mmrtv taxes on this property, pro- After reading them over to the council, the cemetery rules and regulations regu-lations presented by Chairman Moore were adopted and put into effect by the following resolution: Inasmuch as Pleasant Grove City is assuming the full care and control of the city cemetery and have passed an ordinance assuming the authority, therefore; Be it Resolved; by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City in regular session assembled, that the following rules and regulations be adopted: Chairman Bezzant of the Streets committee, reported that the Depot and Sam White .Lanes graveled by the city and county. AIbo that practically all of the streets in the city had been graded at a cost of $138.25. Niels Fugal and Joseph Larsen of the Irrigation Board, met with the ! council, stating that arrangements I had been made to employ the city at-j at-j torney as their council, in connection j with the city, and suggested that the j Irrigation portion of the salary be ! assumed, 60 per cent by the Irrigation Co. and 40 per cent by the city. After j considerable discussion of the matter i a motion was made and carried that the attorney's salary be divided equally equal-ly between the City and Irrigation Co. ! The recorder was authorized to ' apportion the delinquent irrigation ! tax money monthly, on the basis of the stock bo distributed. Relative to the work to be done at the head-house at the mouth of Battle Creek canyon, it was decided that the matter be left with the Waterworks committee with power to act. The recorder was authorized to issue a certificate transferring one acre of water from Elsie Westphal to the heirs of LeRoy Young, provided necessary bond is furnished to cover same. j Chairman Lim of the Waterworks j committee, reported the replacement work progressing favorably, three ! blocks of the pipe having been laid and water turned back in, some difi-culty difi-culty encountered in contracting the trenching of Locust avenue, the city being obliged to assume the trench work from Clifton Harper's corner i east to Matthew Bezzants. The re-j re-j corder was authorized to issue war-( war-( rants covering payment of the trench contracts, subject 'to the approval of 1 the Waterworks committee. Relative j to allowing half rates to wor.thy widows, wid-ows, Mr. Lim was instructed1 to get advice from the city attorney in the matter. Chairman Moore of City Property, reported that the clean up campaign had been arranged for the week of i April 8th to 13th inclusive. The committees had been appointed in each ward to supervise the work and that a dance was being arranged for the night of April 18. Councilman Bezzant made a motion that the city stand behind the chairman of City Property in the clean up program as outlined. Mr. Moore also reported that the north road at the cemetery |
