Show The Lost Institution By WILLIE DOLOWITZ Chronicle Staff Writer Have you ever wondered about the Institute of International Relations? Information about the Institute is tucked away on page 200 in the general catalog. THE INSTITUTE was founded in 1946 and at that time merely brought in guest speakers and in other ways made the student body more "internationally minded." Today under the direction of Dr. S. Grover Rich, the Institute not only continues to do this, but also offers an academic course of study in international affairs. . . t. STUDENTS WHO successfully complete this course receive the Certificate in International Relations. . There are still many advances the Institute, with the help of the University, can make. FOR INSTANCE Brigham Young gives a degree in international interna-tional relations, not just a certificate. The University of Denver has organized a graduate school of International Relations, equal to their School of Medicine and School of Law. ,. . IN TODAY'S world where understanding your neighbor is Sr. imDortant the Institute of International Relations is an important im-portant part of our campus facilities and should be supported to the Oneway we may be as aware of the need for training in this field as other American universities. |
