Show Alumni Association Hosts Senior Dance All June and August graduates of the University will be guests of the Alumni Assn. at the 79th annual Senior Dinner-Dance in the Union Ballroom on June 10. IN ADDITION to a buffet dinner, patrons will be treated to the "big band" sound of Si Zentner's orchestra. "Many aspects of Commencement will be experimental this year, but the beneficial effects of good food and sensational music have long since been well tested," said UUAA executive secretary Paul Cracroft, "so this, looks like a great kickoff to Commencement Commence-ment Weekend." INVITATIONS ARE in the mail to all June graduates, but it is too earlv for the University to have accurate records vet on those students planning to graduate grad-uate in August. However, the party also is for them since they are part of the Class of 1965, said Cracroft and Senior Class President Sherm Harmer. Graduate Grad-uate students who have not yet attended a Senior Dinner-Dance also are eligible to attend. Senior Class officers came in for special commendation by the UUAA for their role in planning the party. The Senior Class will pay for Zentner's campus-oriented band and also will provide two-thirds of the cost for miniature minia-ture plastic diplomas which the UUAA will mail to graduates soon after Commencement. GRADUATES will be asRed to pick up their tickets at the Alumni House, 1471 Federal Way. They will have a choice of serving serv-ing time, either 7:30 or 8:30 p.m. Regents, administration chiefs, deans, student leaders and other dignitaries will be invited to the festivities. June and August grads not receiving re-ceiving invitations in the mail because of recent address changes, clerical errors or any other legitimate reason may also pick up their tickets, Cracroft said. . Mrs. Richard L. Evans is chairman chair-man of the event from the UUAA Board of Control and will arrange ar-range the menu and decorations. |
