Show Lapidary Students to Show Work Saturday Panguitch Middle School students participating in lapidary classes (gems and minerals) will hold an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. in the old Garfield School District Building at Fourth East and First South. Students have been cutting and polishing rocks, making settings for belt buckles, brooches, pendants and rings and other items to be used as Christmas presents. The class is now learning to make wax models for use in casting their own rings from metal. A new addition ad-dition has been added to the workshop where students are leaning jewelry plating. Pete Frandsen, who turned 16 this week and is a tenth grader at Panguitch High School, has worked for nine consecutive weeks learning lapidary arts after school, a unique hobby for any blind pupil. Peter originally became interested in-terested in the hobby when gem and mineral enthusiasts, Bill Niebel, was his next door neighbor. Alisha Hatch took home a jar of candied almonds from The Cinnamon Cin-namon House and Susan Riggs won a $5 gift certificate from Little Indian In-dian Curio.
