Show Escalante High School News By Sunia Spencer ESCALANTE The Moquette drill team of Escalante High School performed its first march of the season to "Beat It" by Michael Jackson during half-time at the Escalante-North Sevier basketball game on Friday. White fringes on the red sweater of their uniforms formed an "M" on the back, adding a special touch to the march. Officers of the Moquettes this year are Derlynned Brooks and Madlyn Haws, advisors; Canter Cottam, president; Tenisa Gracie, vice president; Melanie Grififn, secretary; and Tami Coleman, drill mistress. This year's season starts off with a new score board in the gym, the pride of everyone at EHS. Students paid special recognition to custodian Vergean Porter for his contribution in installing it. The first pep assembly of the season was held Friday featuring cheerleaders Vickie Crawford, Nadine Alvey, Judilyn Griffin, and Paula Leineguth and marches by the Moquettes. Students are busy decorating the building to herald the Christmas season. |
