Show Phone System to Aid Hospital " " Garfield" ' Memorial r Hospital Administrator Wayne Ross announced an-nounced this week the purchase by the hospital of a completely new telephone system. Ross said he had been searching In addition to being far more ef- ficient, it is expected to be less costly in the long run. Ross asked hospital patrons to bear with the facility until all installation in-stallation changes have been completed and while staff members familiarize themselves with the use of the system. ' for thepast year of his administration ad-ministration for a superior system which would adequately and efficiently ef-ficiently serve the hospital's needs. The new system, termed "Horizon" was installed Sunday and Monday to replace the hospital's outmoded telephone system. Purchased Pur-chased from AT&T, it is expected to eliminate previous problems with the old system about which both employees and hospital patrons had complained. With Horizon, when calls transferred tran-sferred to the lab or other part of the hospital from the center switchboard switch-board are not answered, they will revert automatically to the switchboard switch-board so that a message may be left.
