Show G. E. AVERETT SERVICES HELD Many friends and relatives gathered gath-ered Sunday in the First ward chapel to pay final tribute to George E. Averctt, well known resident of this city who was killed kill-ed instantly last Thursday, when he came in contact with a high tension wire on Maplcton bench while moving a house. Bishop A. G. Peterson was in charge of the services. The invocation invo-cation was offered by J. H. Man-waring. Man-waring. The speakers, all of whom paid glowing tribute to Mr. Averctt Aver-ctt and the family were. Alma Fullmer, A. W. Cherrington, former form-er bishop of the ward and C. G. Salisbury. Music was furnished by Mr. Johnson and son of Spanish Fork; Freeman Bird and Glenn Holley, Harvey Hutchinson . and F.lvin Peterson. The closing prayer was by Will Crandall, Daniel Wilnty dedicated the grave at the Evergreen ccmc-1 ccmc-1 tery. Mr. Averctt was born here January Jan-uary 23. 1S66, a son of JcdelhfMi and June F. Averctt. He had always al-ways taken an active part In affairs af-fairs of this community, serving as city road supervisor for a number num-ber of years. He was also a deputy game warden. He was a member of the L. D. S. church, being a high priest at the time of his death. He married Alice Mason in March, 1887. Surviving besides his widow arc eight sons and daughters: Mrs. -Jane Mason, Aurora; Mrs. Nora Larson, Leland; Mrs. Zelma Barker, Bark-er, Mrs. Bessie Gourley, Mrs. Minnie Min-nie Barker, Eddie, Elmo and Evon Averett, Springville; two brothers, John and Hardy Averctt, Springville. |
