Show o Mr. and Mrs. William Stoneman of Salt Lake entertained at Christmas Christ-mas dinner for Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Smith. The ocassion was also in honor of Mr. Smith's 89th birthday which occurred just a few days prior. Mrs. Jed Mercer Jr. won the beautiful floor lamp given away by the First ward Sunday School at the dance in the Apollo Wednesday night. Miss Emma Southworth won one of the New Year's cakes and Roy Pulley the other. Dr. Culver Anderson and Harry Steele won the dance tickets. The dance was well attended. A delightful social affair of the week was the holiday party given by the Ladies Literary Club Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman. The husbands of the members were special guests. A delicious lunch was served first, at small tables each of which was centered with a miniature red Christmas candle in a green holder. Games and a short program were then enjoyed. The prizes for the games were won by Mrs. Byron Crookston and Hans Christensen. There were forty present. |
