Show District hosts school institute With school starting on Aug. 26, Uintah School District employees will be welcomed back to school at the annual opening school institute on Wednesday, Aug. 25. The institute insti-tute will be held in the auditorium at Uintah High School. Dan Miller, a retired elementary principal from the state of Washington, is the guest speaker. He is an entertainer who motivates with his humor. He will be speaking speak-ing about children a subject Close to the hearts of the employees of Uintah schools. Opening school institute will begin be-gin at 8:30 a.m., which is 30-min-utes earlier than in previous years, to enable a workshop to be offered at 10:30 a.m. by Miller and his wife, Judy, entitled "Attitude Advantage." The schedule is: opening school institute, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.; break, 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; and workshop, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. School district employees may choose to go to their work stations after the first session or stay at Uintah High School for the "Attitude Advantage" workshop. Vernal Express Wednesday, August 11, 1993 17 Snow appointed to Special Service Board The Uintah County Commission Monday appointed Leo Snow to serve on the Uintah Special Service District Board. Snow, a former Uintah County Commissioner, will serve on the board until Jan. 1, 1995, the end of the term vacated by Zane White. There were three applicants for the position. Another position on the board has been vacated by' Nyle Bigelow. Uintah County is currently requesting applicants for the position. posi-tion. The deadline is Aug. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Applicants must be 21 and a resident of the unincorporated area of Uintah County. The 3-member Special Service Board oversees the expenditure of a portion of Uintah County's mineral lease money allocated for improvement improve-ment and construction of roads.
