Mr. and Mrs. Wedigs celebrate golden wedding anniversary George and Elva Wedig of Roosevelt, formerly of Vemal, will be the guests of honor at an open house, Friday, Aug. 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Moon Lake Electric Building in Roosevelt, to celebrate 50 years of marriage. The celebration will be hosted by their three children. The couple was married Sept. 13, 1943 in Alexandria, La. They have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. George retired in the mid-1980s as a lineman for Moon Lake Electric. Elva has been the manager of Frontier Motel for 20 years and will retire Aug. 15. When asked what she is going to do after retirement, retire-ment, she said, "Live it up!
