Show Jaycees Complete Flans For Christmas Lighting Program Street Stringers And Trees To Be Placed In Business District This Week Santa Claus To Visit Preston On Saturday, December 14 Plans for the annual Christmas street lighting program and the home lighting contest was announced an-nounced by the Junior Chamber of Commence at a meeting held here Wednesday evening. Street stringers will start going up on Thursday of this week and the trees will be placed by Frida or early Saturday, along the business busi-ness district. Santa Claus day has been set for Saturday, December 14, according to Dowe Byington, chairman of the Christmas program committee. Further Fur-ther details on the arrival of old St. Nick will be published in this paper next week. The home lighting con'est has been arranged and will be announced an-nounced in detail next week. Residents Resi-dents are urged to start preparation prepara-tion immediately for 100 yer cent participation in this civic move. Gaylord Larson is chairman of the committee in charge. The skating pond committer reports re-ports that the rink will be hi goi:,l shape within a few days, weather permitting, and it was stated that lights would be used again tnls year. Guests of the Junior Chamber were Ariel Meek, Ross Moser, and Bob Carter, members of the Preston Pres-ton Future Farmers who made a fine record at the recent national showf in Kansas City. Wm. Craner, their instructor, introduced the boys who gave a short talk. Jean and Joyce Jenkins also favored fa-vored with a trumpet duet and Ben Johnson concluded the meeting with a report on the National Executive Ex-ecutive Board meeting of the Junior Chamber. o n |
