Show LOCAL DRAFT BOARD TO MEET SATURDAY According to word releaseu oy Austin Merrill, clerk of the local draft board, the Franklin county draft board will meet Saturday morning to classify 100 draftees who have sent in their question-naires. question-naires. No physical examinations will be required however until after aft-er the first of the year. No one from Franklin county was included in the November draft but three local boys registered register-ed for service in the regular army during the month. Dee Keller Nelson Nel-son of Dayton enlisted in 9th Engineers En-gineers division and has been stationed sta-tioned at Oceanside, Calif. Howard Allen Heusser of Weston enlisted in the air icorps detachment and has been stationed at Fort Douglas, Utah. Kenneth Smilh of Preston lert Friday to enlist in the air corps but as yet no definite word has been received as to where he will be stationed. State draft headquarters announces an-nounces that there wili be no De- cember call but there will likely be a call early in January, probably probab-ly about January 3. The quota will likely be either 116 or 174, two or three times the November total. This quota will also be filled by volunteers, mainly from counties which did not supply anyone ror the last quota. Three of Franklin county's seven sev-en .volunteers to date have been classified and examined and are now ready for enlistment. They are Nathan Maughan Casperson; Quen-tin Quen-tin Rasmus Casperson and Ariel Melford Larsen. The other four volunteers are William Tyler Bingham, Bing-ham, Arthur Eldon Peterson, Wilson Wil-son Skinner, and Gerald Thompson Bingham. n , |
