Show Legion and CPT Members To Guard Airport Legion To Take 6 p. m., To 6 a. m., Sliif t While Boys Will Do Day Shift K. M. Cannon, commander of Lester Les-ter Keate Post No. 90 of the American Legion has announced the assignment of armed guards to the St. George airport by the American Legion group Friday night, following a request by the Federal and state governments that it be guarded. Legionnaires will be on guard from 6 p.m., until 6 a.m., of every day. During Dur-ing the day, the airport will be guarded by members of the CPT.. I A committee of five, with Vernon Ver-non Worthen as chairman was appointed ap-pointed to organize and assign the members of the Legion, and others, if need be, to specific duty in this matter. Equipment and warmth will be furnished at the airport for the comfort of the guards. A roll of roster of the guards, and their times of responsibility will be posted at the airport, one in the post office and one in the Legion hall for reference by anybody. any-body. It is understood that the guard going off duty is responsible for notifying the guard, who is to come on that evening. "I feel that this is the beginning begin-ning of our home defense program and a bringing together of all ex-service ex-service men of our Post to defend our cause. Our committee is on its toes and everything is going along in fine shape. We are glad of the opportunity to serve", said Mr. Cannon. i |
