Show Newspaper Rock Park Shows Visitor Increase j The monthly visitation '. for January at Newspaper Rock showed an increase of better than 600 over the visitation for the same month in 1974. 333 people visited Newspaper Rock in January of 1975 and only 46 for the same month in 1974, according to Ranger Gordon W. Topham. Goosenecks State Reserve Re-serve showed a decrease for the same month, as visitation dropped from 70 visitors in January of 1974 to 60 visitors for the same month this year. This represents a 14 decrease for the month. Snowmobiling seems to remain fairly active despite de-spite the small amount of snowfall received so far this year. We estimate approximately 127 machines ma-chines left the Dal ton Springs area of the Blue Mountain in the month of January. Other areas in San Juan and Grand Coun ties also experienced some use, however, not to the same extent as the Dal ton Springs area.
