IV wrestlers lost a close match with their counterparts, 12-15 but the varsity made up the difference by taking an oveislielming win 45-15. Four varsity wrestlers won by pins and three others won by decisions. Salaar, 9H lbs., pinned Reay in 27 seconds of the first round to get tilings started for the Devils De-vils with Irish gaining a decision in the 105 class over Fvans. Kerr, fighting fight-ing in the 119 lb. class won, 4-3 over Womack in an exciting match. Stocks 126 lbs., also won by a close score. 6-5. Robert Winder, 112 lbs., won by forfeit. Lammert, Hansen, Bentley, Wyatt and Ing each won by pins, with Wyatt gaining his win in 58 seconds. Junior Varsity wrestlers wrest-lers to win were Tod Zimmerman, by a pin, Swasey, also by a pin. Coming up this week, trie grapplers will have a tough time as they face San Juan in Class 2-A championships at Blanding. Blan-ding. The Friday meet will determine which wrestlers go to the state competition. On Saturday, the squad travels to Duchesne for the all-region meet. |
