March 12, 1SD3, Niels 11. iS'ie'sen, age 77 years, formerly one of Brigham City's old settlers, died in Lien tile Valley, Idaho, after a few days' illness. The remains were brought to Brigham City, where they were interred Tuesday afternoon. The funeral services .were held in the Third ward meeting meet-ing house Tuesday afternoon. Numerous relatives and friends were present. Bishop A. A. Jan-son Jan-son presided. The choir rendered musical selections suitable for the occasion. Remarks were made eulogistic of the life and character, of the deceased, by two gentlemen from Salt Lake, who worked for him in their youth and who em- ; braced the gospel under his tuition ! as a missionary in Denmark. .Bishop Janson related his missionary mis-sionary experience with the departed. de-parted. Counsellor Kelly, Patri- : arch Smith, Al vin Nichols a nd others spoke, bearing testimony to I his worth as an honest man. He I was a thorough laboring man and it may be said of him that he ceased to work to live. Peace to his ashes. |
