Show Miiii'MSE a.i iu.!irr. The ilriglwim Oily Firo Department Huvo II ltljr Time. The surprise given by the Brigham Brig-ham City Fire Department last Saturday evening to their ex-Chief. feberC. Boden, was without question ques-tion one of the biggest events of the kind which has taken place in Brigham City for many a long year. The fire laddies worked like beavers, but they had the satisfaction satisfac-tion of witnessing their efforts e ro w n ed with s u ccess on e ve ry hand. Their worthy chief was dumb struck with surprise; the bounteous supper passed off grandly; grand-ly; the program was a decided success, suc-cess, and the after games were entered en-tered into with a vim and enthusiasm enthusi-asm which clearly showed how well all enjoyed themselves. Between seven and eight o'clock, Saturday evening, nearly a hundred people quietly assembled in the east room of the Court House. Among the happy throng were the Mayor, City Council, county officials, offi-cials, firemen, their wives, sweethearts sweet-hearts ami a few invited friends. About 8 o'clock the recipient of the surprise entered with Marshal Orson Hudson, Mr. Boden having been on a blind trip till day under the able guardianship of Sheriff Loveland. The surprise was complete. com-plete. When all were sea toil around the handsomely spread tables, acting-Chief P. N. IViree presented Mr. Boden with an elegant ele-gant silk umbrella, a tnken of respect re-spect and esteem of the boys to their ex-Chief. After doing full justice to the generous spread, the room was cleared and an appropriate appropri-ate program was rendered. Those taking p;irt were Mrs. Clem llors-ley, llors-ley, Mrs. II. L. Steed, Orson Hudson, Hud-son, Charles Watkins. L. Berg. Jr., and Geo. Ingram.
