Show Boy Staters make reports Springville boys who attended attend-ed Boys State gave interesting reports at the November meeting meet-ing of the American Legion Auxiliary Wednesday evening of last week, at Memorial Hall. Members of the Legion attended attend-ed as special guests. After short business conducted conduc-ted by President Mani la Brown, Mrs. Hazel Roylance, program chairman, introduced Bruce Cook, Roy Tanner, Calvin Cal-vin Bird, Richard Thorpe, Neil Maycock and Jerry Warren, each of whom spoke briefly, telling of their experiences and thanking their sponsors. John Pehrson and John Turner entertained en-tertained with vocal numbers with guitar accompaniment. Commander W. E. Johnson of the Legion, also gave a short talk during the evening. Floss Phillips, hospital chairman, chair-man, reported on a visit made by six auxiliary members to the Youth Center of the State Hospital, reporting that several boxes of clothing and other items had been taken- over. A letter was read from the hospital hos-pital chaivman urging the unit to take one girl and one boy for their Christmas project and the unit voted to supply the needed items for the children's Christmas. At the close cf the meeting, refreshments were served by hostesses LaRue Walker, Etta Jones, Belle Sumsion, LaPreal Friel, Vivian Johnson, Marjor-ie Marjor-ie Frandsen, and Marjorie Davis, Da-vis, to forty-four unit members and guests. Next meeting of the Auxiliary Auxil-iary will be in the form of a Christmas party, December 9, at 7:30 p.m., at Memorial Hall. I Mrs. Julia Sumsion and Mrs. Margaret Campbell are in charge of the entertainment. Mrs. Marva Davis is chairman of the refreshment committee. |
