Show Kiwanis notes Farm-City Week Spriingville Kiwanis Club wiill observe Farm-City Week in their luncheon meeting this week, beginning at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Guest speakers will be Egidio (Jim) Carne-secca, Carne-secca, Mapleton fruit farmer; Les Hardy, manager Utah Valley Val-ley Packing Company and Dr. Marden Broadbent, Utah State University Extension Service Area Director. Each Kiwanis Club member will bring a farmer or businessman to the meeting as his guest. Toastmaster for the evening is Champ Allen. This is the tenth annual observance ob-servance of National Farm-City Farm-City Week. The event is designed de-signed to bring about a better understanding of the ties that bind urban and rural America. Kiwanis clubs throughout the country have taken the leadership in sponsoriing programs, pro-grams, tours and other activities activ-ities which bring the farm and city people closed together. Activities Ac-tivities of this kind, are believed be-lieved to help promote a better bet-ter understanding of each others oth-ers problems and to develop closer ties between the farm and city people. |
