Show prosh-varsity ganie at BYU Friday night A sneak preview of things wsketball at Brigham Young University will be offered to public the night of Nov. 23. ,vhen the Cougars play their nual frosh-varsity game. ' The Cougars, who figure to have one of their better teams j,, tow for the '64-65 season, will move onto the floor of the george Albert Smith Field-house Field-house at 7:30 p.m. According to the head coach Stan Watts, the first half-hour will be in the form of a clinic for the fans. Tipoff for the freshman-varsity struggle strug-gle will be 8 p.m. "We plan to play three 15-minute 15-minute quarters," Watts explained, ex-plained, "so that everybody will be given a chance to see some action." Both teams have been spend-in spend-in their afternoons on the main floor since practice began be-gan last month. Coach Gary Earnest's freshmen have been working out from 2-4 each af- ternoon. while the varsity has the floor from 4-6. Included on the varsity's current 14-man roster are the following players: Guards Dick Nemelka (6-0), Joel Gardner (6-0), Mike Gardner (6-1), Jeff Congdon (6-1), Ken James (6-3) and Jim Jimas (6-1). The Department of the Interior Inter-ior Wildlife Agency will reimburse reim-burse the state for 75 per cent of the total cost, using funds derived from the Pittman-Rob-ertson Act which earmarked for wildlife restoration monies derived from an excise tax on sporting arms and ammunition. The new purchase brings the total land acquired under this Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Restor-ation project to 16,735 acres. |
