Show Special award goes to former resident ; A former Springville resi- , dent, Mrs. Margaret McPher- , son Keller, last week was ( called from her home in Sac- , rament, Calif., to Salt Lake : City, to receive an honorary life membership in Utah State Social Welfare Organization. The plaque was presented by Mrs. Belle Spafford of the Relief Re-lief Society General Board, at the annual meeting, in recognition recog-nition of the service Mrs. Keller Kel-ler rendered in the field of social so-cial welfare during the six years she served as director of the Social Service and Child Welfare Dept. in Utah. Mrs. Keller's mother is Mrs. cial service director for the Sierra Si-erra Children's Home at Vaca-ville, Vaca-ville, Calif., and teaches a class at the Sacramento State College. Col-lege. She received her BS degree from BYU and a Master's degree de-gree in social work at U. of U graduate school. She served in Utah County Welfare Department Depart-ment and in the Ogden Child Aid Society before taking over the directorship of social welfare wel-fare in the state. As she presented Mrs. Keller Kel-ler with a lovely plaque, Mrs Spafford read a glowing tribute tri-bute to her and the work she has accomplished in welfare. . Mrs. Keller went to California Califor-nia when her husband, Tom, was transfered. They have a married daughter living in Alberta, Al-berta, Canada. Mr. Keller's mother is Mrs. Flora McPherson of Springville. |
