Show WATER SHORTAGE HITS GOLD DREDGING NOME, Alaska, Oct. 19. (By mail.) Water shortage has materially interfered with gold dredging operations on the northern part of Seward peninsula this season. Reports from Candle say that little mining is going on. An operator on the Kugruk was unable to move his dredge down to the Keewalik because of low water. Conditions at Bear creek have been better, according to reports. Operators from the Inmachuk section report fair success in dredging operations this year. The Cordovado Mining company, com-pany, one of the largest concerns in that district, reports unusual success. |
