Show j LEHI SOLDIER DIES OF INFLUENZA IN TRAINING CAMP ! V 4. SERGEANT EAEL ASHTON. T V Special to The Tribune. IjEHI, Oct. 27. Mrs. Carrie Ball received re-ceived news that her foster-son, Sergeant Earl Ashton, had succumbed to pneumonia, pneu-monia, resulting from influenza, at Camp Lewis, Thursday. Sergeant Ashton was 24 years of age and Jegan training at Camp Lewis last June. Only a few days ago Mrs. Ball received a letter from him, expressing his interest In his work and his eagerness to go overseas, and also saying he was enjoying perfect health, except for a very slight cold. The disease dis-ease took him suddenly, however, and the next news of him she received was that of his death. The body will be brought to Lehi within the next few days, and funeral services will be held here. |
