Show ALTAMONT - MT0 EMMONS By LOIS LaROSE WEDDING RECEPTION HELD SATURDAY The wedding reception honoring hon-oring Miss Karen Marie Demke and Mr. Larry James Hansen was held in theCulture Hall at the Altamont LDS Chapel Saturday, May 14. The couple were married Friday, May 13, in the Salt Lake Temple with Harold B. Lee, member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, officiating. Standing in the receiving line was the grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Hansen and the brides parents, Mr. G Mrs. Ernest F. Demke. Matron of Honor, Mrs. Roy Hawsj Maid of Honor, Miss Barbara Demke; Brides maids, Mrs. Doyle Lisonbee, Mrs. Kent Robison, Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Rhead and Mrs. Gordon Ged-des. Ged-des. Larry Kent Robison served as best man and the ushers were Doyle M. Lisonbee, Roy L. Haws, Wayne Demke and Charles Char-les Hansen. Gift bearers were Wayne Demke, Kathy and Kevin Robison, Johnny and Jean Marie Lisonbee. Attending the guest book was Miss Valerie Hansen and Mrs. Frank Griffen was in charge of the gifts. LaMar Mower, Master of Ceremonies, announced the following program: A soft shoe ballet by Meralee and Valerie Hansen, Delyce Bellon. Erna Kim LaRose sang a solo "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" accompanied by Mrs. Lois LaRose. The "Golden Bells" who are Norma Hansen, Lorna Brotherson, Norma Jessen and Rits Hansen sang two numbers & were accompanied .by Mrs, Ina Kitteridge. Serving refreshments were Erna LaRose, Joan Tidwell, Jean Marie Lisonbee Debbie Powell and Geniel Bird. Assisting with the refreshments and serving wedding cake was Mrs. LaVirda Powell, Lois LaRose, Donna Bird and Arville Durphy. After a honeymoon to Southern South-ern California the couple will ' reside in Salt Lake City. The bride attended the Univ. of Utah and the bridegroom attended Utah State University. He graduated from Snow College and filled a two and half year mission in South Germany for the LDS mission. Cut of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hansen and Mr. & Mrs. Dan Anders on-of Salt Lake City; Mr. & Mrs. Doyle Lisenbee ana cniiaren, Mrs. Thelma Robison, Mr. & Mrs. James Hall, Mr. & Mrs. Phil Brotherson, Mr. & Mrs. Clay Fransen, Mr. & Mrs. Gib Hullinger of Roosevelt; Mr. & Mrs. Frank, Mr. & Mrs. Steve Bellon and Mrs. Corrine Batty of Vernal; Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Dart, Mrs. Orville Dart and Mr. & Mrs. Mac Murray of Myton and Mr. Wanless Shields of Arcadia. The evening was spent in dancing to the music of Art Smith and orchestra. Waldo Hansen was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital Monday afternoon suffering from chest pains. He will remain in the hospital for further treatment for Several days. The community wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. Frank Wall of Green River, Wyoming is spending some time with his Uncle, Mr. Hyrum Smith, to help with the spring planting. Sunday he was a dinner guest at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Thacker. Mr. Clarke Reay was here over the week-end visiting his mother, Mrs. Chubb Re ay. He was accompanied by Miss Shar-ren Shar-ren Hansen of Salt Lake City. Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Tidwell of Bountiful were over-night guests with Mr. & Mrs. Henry Tidwell Saturday. Miss Glorianna LaRose of Brigham City was an over-night guest of her cousin, Joanna La Rose while her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Buster LaRose motored on to Vernal. Mrs. Alieen:Case and son Micheal, formerly of Mt. Emmons, Em-mons, was calling on friends 2 and transacting business here Monday from Salt Lake City. Mr. James Thacker and Mr. Dick Stringham left Sunday for Greenriver, Wyoming where they will work this summer for Peas Brothers Construction Company. Altamont Spurs 4-H riding club met Saturday at the rodeo grounds and held their meeting with President Valarie Marshall in charge. They are making plans to sponsor a Little Buck-aroo Buck-aroo Rodeo in June. Mr. Howard Todd will spon-f sor the Little League baseball team this year. Friday was the day all the eligible boys were trying out to play with the team The first games with Duchesne was postponed Saturday because of rain. Mrs. Karen Robison and children of Logan is spending several days with Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Waldo Hansen. Mrs. Lois LaRose., Chairman Chair-man of the March of Dimes, presented each grade from Kin-dergarden Kin-dergarden to the sixth grade with an appreciation certificate for their generous offering to the March of Dimes this year. The sophomore slide was well attended Friday the 13th at the high school gym. They danced to the orchestra of "The Others" from Salt Lake. The Senior Tea will be May 19th at the Cultural Hall, Altamont Alta-mont LDS Chapel This annual event is sponsored by the Variety Arts Club of Altamont. |
