Show Tabfoia Mews by Florence Turnbow Tabiona Seminary Graduation Gradu-ation exercises will be held tonight, Thursday, May 19, at the Tabiona Ward Chapel Seminary. Instructor Ralph D. Erickson is in charge of the graduating class. Owen Van Tassell is the Seminary president. presi-dent. Everyone is urged to attend. A Seminary banquet and pin presentation was held last Thursday at the Tabiona Chapel Chap-el for students who were graduating gradu-ating and their parents. A full course ham dinner was served to a large crowd of 70, Mrs, Carol Jones, Mrs. Cleo Hack-ford, Hack-ford, Mrs. Wanda Ivie and Mrs. Rella LeFevre served the dinner. Waitress1 were the sophomore girls. The theme was "Prayer Is the Key to Heaven". The tables were decorated with blue and white, representing the Seminary pin. Place cards were a door with a key. Guest speaker was Ward Magleby, a Seminary instructor from BYU. He talked on prayer. Junior and senior girls sang the theme song. Joy Turnbow explained themean-ing themean-ing of the Seminary pin. Graduates Grad-uates were LaLona Humes, Leah Webb, Owen Van Tassell, LuCinda Lee, Juanita Sweat, Eugene Chavez, Beverly Clark, Toy Turnbow, La Von Giles, Norma Curry, Jack Lefler, Max Fabrizio, Craig Thomas, and Jim Rhoades. Post graduates gradu-ates were Kathleene Young, Keith Rhoades, Jack Lazenby, Tex Gines, LeVere Fabrizio and Boyd Turnbow. Mr. Magleby Mag-leby assisted in the presentation. presenta-tion. The mothers pinned the pins on the students. President Glen Molman and Mrs. Mol-man Mol-man and Mrs. Magleby were also at the banquet. Mr. and Mrs. Earl H. Van Tassell celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Friday, May 13, at their home. All five of their children were present. Mr, and Mrs. Ronnie Chativin of Heber, Mr. and Mrs. Brent Chugg of Providence, Owen, Keven and Jessup. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fabrizio, Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Turnbow, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Erickson, Mr, and Mrs, Arvel Rhoades, Mr, and Mrs, Walter LeFevre, Nora LeFevre, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Turnbow, Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Wadley and girls, Mrs. Kathern Holt, Kenneth Carlile, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye, Mr, and Mrs. William Lewis, Mr, and Mrs. Dale Gines and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Roberts. A beautiful 4 -tier wedding cake, decorated by their daughter Claudia, was adorned with silver bells and pink roses. Mr. Van Tassell presented his wife with a 12 piece set of silverware. Entertainment for the evening even-ing was several musical numbers num-bers from the family and other guests. Refreshments were ice cream and cake. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14. for Moroni Henry Chativin of Tabiona, age 65, who died May 10, 1966, 1 a. m. in a SLC hospital hospi-tal of natural causes. Born December 18, 1900, Heber City, he was a son of Chauncy Charles and Elizabeth Marie Giles Chatwin. He married Bertha M. Swent who later died. He married Louise E, Lebelt January 1943, Duchesne, Duch-esne, who he later divorced, Moroni was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, He lived in Tabiona most of his life but had been living in SLC for a few years. Survivors include sons, Rex M. Jerome, Idaho; Al-vin, Al-vin, Oak Harbor, Washington; Washing-ton; Douglas, Hazelton, Idaho; Mrs. CM, (Barbara) Barr, Baker, Oregon; step-daughter, Mrs, Duane (Alta) Larkin, Hazelton; Mrs. Ronald (Caroline) (Carol-ine) Gines, Mineral Wells, Texas; and 25 grandchildren. Brothers and sisters surviving are Horace of SLC; Mrs. May Langdon, SLC; Mrs. Fred (Selena) Wooley, Tabiona; Thorpe, Orem; and Clifton, Midway, Pallbearers were Duane Chatwin, Erick Chatwin, Elver Langdon, Rulon Wolley, and Russell Packsman, Prayer at the Relief Society room was by Claude Wagstaff, Prelude and Postlude music was by Mrs. Carle ene Williams. Wil-liams. Invocation was given by Kenneth Carlile, A duet, "In the Garden" by Mrs. Winona Lefler and Mrs. Florence Roberts, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Williams was sung. Speakers were Dale Gines and Burnell Turnbow. A solo. "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine", was sang by Mrs. Rene Morin, accompanied accompan-ied by daughter Marilee. Remarks were by Bishop Fabrizio. Fab-rizio. Benediction by Ted Nye and Dedication of the grave was given by Leo Turnbow. Tabionia Relief Society assisted in caring for the flowers and served lunch to the relatives after the services. Around 70 relatives from out of town came for the service. D. U, P, organization elected elect-ed new officers at their last meeting that was held Monday night at the home of Mrs. Thelma Nves. New Captain for the DUP'sis Mrs. Jennie Jones; Mrs. Edna Giles 1st president and Mrs. Grace Giles vice captain; Mrs. Thelma Nye register; Mrs. Velda Young over the relics; Mrs. Nettie Carlile, work director; Mrs. Carol Jones, music leader. Outgoing officers were Mrs. Grace Giles captain and most of the officers that were put back in. Mrs. Afton Giles presented the lesson which was a continuation of last months. Mrs. Grace Giles and Mrs. Thelma Nye were hostesses. A delicious lunch was served to 11 members. Mrs. Clista Defa was taker, to SLC for a few days where she has been under the doctors care. Her husband brought her home Saturday. PTA organized new officers last Thursday at. a meeting held at the Tabiona High School. Mrs. Afton Giles was put in as president; Mrs. Shelid Defa, vice president; and Mrs. Myrna Fabrizio as secretary. sec-retary. Outgoing officers were Mrs. Winons Lefler, Mrs. Jolene Giles and Mrs, Elm a Clark, The new, voting officers, full of enthusiasm, met with the school board last week to ask for more improvements around the school grounds and another small bus. They hope the community will support them in their new undertaking and get behind them in their efforts to better the school. Mr. and Mrs. Leonal Webb were in SL.C Wednesday to see their new grandson, who was born recently to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Webb. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Len Mills and family. The Aaronic Priesthood held their annual outting for the boys Saturday evening on the school grounds. The Bishop, Thomas Fabrizio, Bernell Turnbow and Ralph Erickson and Aaronic Advisor Leonal Webb were in charge of the supper, which consisted of barbecue chickens. Games were played before the supper. Tabiona MIA held their Hawaiian Luau for MIA Maids, Laurels and Explorers. The hall was decorated with Hawaiian Ha-waiian decorations; girls were dressed in Hawaiian costumes and leis for girls and boys. Mrs. Twila Rhoades was in charge of the games. Mrs. Angie Lewis, MIA Maid leader, and Mrs. Carleene Williams, Laurel leader, prepared pre-pared shish-ka-bobs for the boys and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hayden of SLC spent Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Brig Giles. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wadley of SLC was visiting friends and relatives Saturday in Tab-onia. Tab-onia.
