Wally Brannam, reporting for the striking mechanics, said that Carl Van Patten, a non-union man was arrested by Sheriff Theron S. Hall last Thursday, on a charge of assault and battery resulting from an altercation between a union man, Robert Lucas and himself him-self when Van Patten entered the Ford business establishment on North Main Street. Mr. Brannam said the men were striking for a wage increase comparable com-parable to the average union mechanic mech-anic wage. |
