Thorn Bowlers Win Title; Prizes Awarded Thorn's Ready-Mix Concrete Co. won the Inter-City Bowling league championship Saturday night in a close battle with Grand Lumber Co., winning by a total of 2399 pins to Grand's 2359. Both teams ended the regular season play as top clubs in the first and second half. Tuesday night the clubs met at tha bowling alley to receive team and individual awards and cash prizes. To be considered for the awards and prize money a player had to bowl, at least 60 times. Only one cash award was given to a winning win-ning player even though he scored highest in more than one event, according to LeRoy Johnson, secretary, secre-tary, who has done a fine job of reporting the league throughout the season. |
