Show Pfc. Ole M. Sorensen, 21-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Sorensen, Soren-sen, of this city, is a switchboard operator at Camp Desert Rock, Nev., the Sixth Army installation which is the home of support and participating troops from the armed services during the series of atomic tests currently being conducted by the Atomic Energy Commission and the Department of Defense. He is assigned to the Wire Co., 16th Signal Operation Battalion which has been handling radio-teletype radio-teletype communications at Camp Desert Rock during the most recent re-cent phase of the tests. Pfc. Sorensen entered the service in March, 1951, and took his basic training at Camp Cooke, Calif. Pfc. Paul L. Diamond, son' of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Diamond of Ma-pleton, Ma-pleton, has just finished six weeks schooling to receive his MOS in cooking. He was also named honor student of the year. Pfc. Diamond is leaving in the near future for Greenland where he will be on maneuvers for the next six months. |
