A Guc Guest t. t THE COQUETTISH VIOLET Ill I'll swear the dainty violet Was born to be a gay coquette For nestling neath a shady tree Today I saw one wink ink ink at me not my fancy 1 Hours and hours Ive I've spent among the shrubs and flowers lowers And peonies never lift an eye I Or flirt fUrt with me mc when I pass by The roses very plainly show By stately conduct that they know know- now now- And have known since my plot began began- That Im I'm a settled married man The tiger Uger lilies hold their place With highly ct cultured poise and grace And act like ladies ladles at a tea When near them I may chance to be But violets scented doubly sweet Lie waiting In some dim retreat To capture men who pass their way way way- Ill I'll swear one winked at me mc today
