Show I s T ft ft Harmston honored at UMC ceremony Dr. Floyd K. Harmston will receive the title Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Missouri at the Columbia Faculty Ceremony. Dr. Harmston came to UMC in 1966 as Director of Resource Development Programs, Research Center, College of Business and Public Administration. In 1966 he was ! appointed Professor of Economics. College of Arts and Science. Dr. Harmston received his Ph.D from University of Missouri. He also holds a Masters Degree in Statistics from University of Wyoming and a BJS. in Business from Utah State University. For ten years he worked as a statistician for the UJS. Government For fifteen years he was Director of Business and Economic Research at University of Wyoming. He is a veteran of and Regional Economics and in Economic Development. He has published two books in the field of Community Economics, plus numerous monographs and journal articles. He has published five mathematical models of economy of the State of Missouri, two of the economy of the St Louis SMSA and numerous models of smaller economies. He is a member of the four campus Doctoral faculty. Dr. Harmston was bon in Roosevelt, September 22, 1917. He married Winifred Cook, of Syracuse, Utah in 1941. They have four children: Linda Dahl of Brown's Mills, New Jersey, Paul F. Harmston of Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Karl D. Harmston of Wright Wyoming and Eric J. Harmston of Provo.
