Jno It Is I was a 1 wards cf as well east; dents. k presentS The rJi eretCenJ P J I - Thomas Butler Allred, son of Reuben Warren Allred and Lucy Ann Butler Allred, born Mjrch 17th, 1841, at Nau-voo, Nau-voo, Hancock (Co., Illinois. Came to Utah Terrltori with his parents In 1849, arriving In Salt Lake City, October Oc-tober 15. 1849. Lived In Salt Lake City and vicinity until 1853. Responding to a call from Pres. Brlgbam Young, they moved to the South to help settle Sanpete. San-pete. County, locating at Mantt, later at Spring City, where he rosldd until 1886, when he removed to Deseret During bis residence In Sanpete Co. he went three times across the plains to bring emigrants to Utah, also assisted as-sisted in many operations against the Indiana by standing guard and following follow-ing on their trail to recover stock which had been stolen by them. August 7, 1884, at the organization of the 80th Quorum of Seventy be was chosen as the first of the Presidents. He was the father of 14 children, five of whom survive him. as follows: Thomas B. Allred Jr., of Deseret; K. P. Allred. of Goldfleld, Ner ; Fm ratline Allred of Hinckley; Angus and Alpine Allred of DenVret. For the past three years he has be n a sufferer from Blight's disease. About three weeks ago be became worse, being confined to his bed the last week. November 5th he was Ukon to Salt Lake City to the L. D. S. Hospital where be died Sunday. November 27. 1910. at 12:23 P. M. The remains were shipped to lllnck-iey lllnck-iey where funeral services were held Wednesday. November 30th. Interred at !- ret Cemetery. |
