Hanson, the man who has been accused of causing a number of .. fires In Fillmore the past two years, but has escaped conviction, and being a free man Insists upon coming back to Fillmore to live. The attempt was made when Hanson i-stepped i-stepped to the back door of bis home to throw out some scraps from the supper table. As he stood clesrly revealed re-vealed In the light some one blazed away at him with a shot gun. The plate he held was shot out of his hand, the door, window and house for ten feet around was peppered with shot, and a number of them found lodgment In Hanson's body. His aged father who lives with him summoned the neighbors, and the officers and a doctor was called In, and an examination was made. The doctor found that six duck shot had taken effect, one was above the right eye, one In the forehead, one In each arm, one In the breast and one In the leg.
