Show u American Fork Dairymen Organize At a meeting of the American Fork dairymen held at the City Hall Friday night, plans were made for the organization of a cooperative purebred sire association with one Jersey and one Holstein blocks. B. N. Christensen and A. D. McAllister were elected temporary presidents of the two blocks. These two men are obtaining members for the two blocks. When they have fifty cows signed up for each block, each group will obtain a sire of over 700 pounds production behind them for at least three generations. Another meeting will be held on July 10 for ordering the two bulls. Eli J. Clayson, President of the J Utah County Farm Bureau, C. y. Cannon of the B. Y. U., and County Agent W. J. Thayne, spoke on better breeding and better feeding. The advantages of the bull association asso-ciation are: 1 Better an'd fewer bulls. 2 Low cost of cooperation. 3 Quick returns on investment. 4 Line breeding possible. 5 Encourages community breeding 6 Eliminates scrubs. 7 Puts breeding on business basis 8 Puts bulls in pens. |
