Show Tennis Tournament Planned Men, Women and Juniors To Participate An elaborate tennis tournament is being planned for the very near future, fu-ture, according to Earl "Hap" Holm-stead, Holm-stead, American Fork's summer recreation rec-reation leader. Men, women and juniors will have the opportunity to participate and contest in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Since the recent erection of the fine concrete court at . the High School, a large number of citizens, business people and juniors, to say nothing of the high school students, have taken to tennis, and have kept the court hot with practice and individual indi-vidual competition. The coming tournament tour-nament gives everyone interested in this sport a chance to participate, gain valuable experience and contest for further honors. There are a number of players in town who have great possibilities, according to Mr. Holmstead, after witnessing their playing, and who predicts that the increased practice necessary for keen competition and the more enthused and awakened interest in-terest in the sport, will g'ive a brilliant brill-iant display of raquet work. Not only will the coming tournament tourna-ment give much needed experience, develop more and better players, create an incentive for harder play, awaken new interests, but better sportsmanship will he evident among those who will practice for the coming com-ing titles. The court, which is in need of a few repairs, will be put in first class shape before the tournament. A plea is sent forth to everyone who has engaged in the sport to start practicing more seriously for the coming tournament! c |
