Walton Home From Lions Convention: Gives Report j F Walton, after having carried ,he delegation of the American Fork's Lions Club to the National convened conven-ed held at Louisville, Kentucky. June 18 t 21 inclusive, reports a very splendid experience. He in company with more than twenty oth-cr oth-cr delegates from various clubs in District 28, which comprises Utah aad the southern portion of Idaho, attended in a body. Idaho was represented rep-resented by a Soda Springs delegate. Inter-national president, Ben A Buffin, sounded the gajel at 1 o'clock on the afternoon of June 13, calling together perhaps one of the largest assemblies gathered at any one time for the promotion of this type of public service. Every state in the United States was represented as Tell as Canada and Cuba. A member of active clubs are now organized in China, but no delegates were register ed from that section. The convention was of an educational educa-tional nature from start to finish. Some very outstanding individuals from various sections of the country made their contribution to this great service organization, as well as numerous num-erous Lion members. The splendid brotherly spirit exercised ex-ercised between the members of the foreign countries was displayed on numerous occasions, positively assuring as-suring that the growth of. Lionism and its spread to the four corners of the earth can never fail to play a wonderful part in establishing that friendly relationship that we may ultimately hope for. "Lionism has shown a wonderful growth," as stated by the Secretary j General, Melvin Jones's , report. It Vas shown wherein only one other service Club (international) has a larger membership than the Lions International. Up to the date of this convention there were 1804 active fclubs within the .territories mentioned, mention-ed, Rotary having some 1920. Estimating Esti-mating from the growTth of Lionism which has 450 to 500 new clubs added add-ed last year, it is rather easy to state that in all probability the Secretary- J General's report at Denver next yearj will show Lionism in the lead of any other service organization within existence. ex-istence. The report at the convention will be in the hands of the local Lion secretary in a very few weeks, and will prove very interesting to members mem-bers who may care to go into detail of the convention. They may secure a copy of the same fromi the secretary. secre-tary. Following the convention, present District Governor, Dr. P. L. Holman, past District Governor, Leo Hansen. Lion President J. F.
