Show Dear Editor: There are two points I would like to see cleared up in regards to the Stratford Ward fire: (1) Chief Piercey says that Assistant Assist-ant Chief A. R." Ward was in charge of the fire. Well, I know for a fact that Chief Ward was not on duty that day, but saw the fire from, his home, and When he got to the fire he was the first supervisor officer to arrive, so took command 20 minutes min-utes after the fire was reported. report-ed. (2) Why wasn't the Sugar House fire truck fully manned'.' It responded to the fire with four men. There should have been at least five. Lingenfelter is hollering for more fire stations. sta-tions. Why in the h build more fire stations when the ones we've got are all undermanned? under-manned? I'll bet you if the B. of F. U. knew how many ' men are on our fire trucks they would raise insurance rates to morrow. A. V. K. |
