Show MIDGLEY ADDRESSES MT. PLEASANT LIONS Grant W. Midgley, prominent Sugar House businessman and president of the Salt Lake chapter, chap-ter, Atlantic Union Committee, Wednesday evening addressed the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club. His subject was "Why Is Union With Other Democratic Nations Necessary for Aimerica." "We must be prepared either to accept union with other na-tioas na-tioas or, if it comes to that, fight the world alone," he stated. stat-ed. In his concluding remarks,, Mr. Midgley said: "The only method by which efforts of the democratic nations can be unified uni-fied effectively and permanently is by union . . . the establishment establish-ment of a government with power pow-er to provide for the common defense." Mr. Midgley spoke again briefly brief-ly at a regular bi-monthly meeting meet-ing of the Atlantic Committee group Thursday evening in the governor's board room at the state Capitol. Meetings of this organization are open to the public. They are held at 8 o'clock every other Thursday at the Capitol. Next meeting is on Sept. 28, according to. Mr. Midgley. |
