That St. James hospital is one of the most necessary institutions in Butte is amply evidenced by the figures obtained obtain-ed in its annual report, issued a few days ago. Despite the many patients admitted and cared for at St. James' hospital, each one received the best possible care, the number of sisters, nurses and physicians at the institution institu-tion being sufficiently large to insure the best of attention for each patient there. There are sixteen domestics In the institution. There are nine men. of which number six have the care of male patients. Three are on duty during the day and three are on at night. In addition to the three men on duty at night, one sister is in charge and she has the assistance of two of the class of eight which is attached to the hospital. If occasion demands, the sister in charge at night can have the assistance of more of the class. There are fourteen Sisters of Charity in the hospital, two of whom are registered reg-istered pharmacists and have charge of the djug room. Sister Superior Emilda pays careful attention to every detail, and under her able administration St. James' hospital is maintaining its high standard in a- praiseworthy manner. The clas3 of eight in the hospital is composed of young ladies whose homes are .in But te and who are studying the noble profession of caring for the sick. Enrollment in the class is still open to other young ladies. Lectures are delivered de-livered to them by the physicians of the hospital staff and other physicians who visit the hospital. It is a splendid opportunity for any young lady who wishes to become a nurse in so thorough thor-ough and modern a hospital as St. j James'. ! ; i i |
