Show St. George Club Activities During Week Mrs. Frank Holland and Mrs. K. M. Cox were co-hostesses May 9 in entertaining the Alice Louise Reynolds club chapter 11 at the Holland home. "Ride With Me" by Thomas B. Costain, was the book reviewed by Mrs. Clark Empey. Election of officers for 1945-46 placed Mrs. Reed Mathis as president; presi-dent; Mrs. Grant Whitehead, first and Mrs. Clawson Burgess, second vice presidents; Mrs. Barrel Bracken, secretary; Mrs. Ralston Barber, historian; Mrs. Andrew McArthur, music director and Mrs. Virgil Snow, program chairman. chair-man. Lunch was served to 20. "Campus Shadows" by Dr. Harold Har-old Trott was the book reviewed by Mrs. Juanita Brooks before ALR club chapter 16 on Saturday, May 11 at the home of Mrs. Mat-tie Mat-tie W. Ruesch. Mrs. Milton Burgess Bur-gess was assisting hostess. Officers elected for 1945-46 were Mrs. Ruesch, president; Mrs. Pratt Miles, first and Mrs. Ralph Huntsman, Hunts-man, second vice presidents; and Mrs. Ray Garner, secretary. Following the election and book review,, a report of the year's activities, Mrs. C. C. Wallace, outgoing president, was presented with a gift book. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and their son, Leon are leaving shortly for an extended stay in Salt Lake City in the interest of Leon's health. The 1944 Pulitzer prize novel, "Journey In the Dark" by Flavin, was reviewed by Mrs. W. B. Plan-sen Plan-sen at the Alice Louise Reynolds club, chapter 17, on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. D. P. Spencer was hostess. Election of officers for the coming year followed the review. Mrs. R. M. Reber was elected president, Mrs. Nelson Fenton and Mrs. D. P. Spencer, first and second vice presidents; Mrs. W. B. Hansen, secretary; Mrs. Marion Bowler, treasurer. |
