Madsen of Duchesne, Du-chesne, is visiting indefinitely with her sister, Mrs. Effie B. Adamson, who is seriously ill at her home. Mrs. Alfred B. Harper spent the week end with her daughter, Mrs. Thelma Bloomquist, in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Archie McDaniel and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin McDaniel were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Robertson. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Eves announce an-nounce the birth of a winsome baby girl on Saturday at their home in the Manila ward. Mrs. Fred Foutz spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake with her daughter and son-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Corrigan. Mr. and Mrs. Weston Hales, Mrs. Maggie Johnson, Mrs. Hilda Farr, Mr. H. C. Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hendrickson and Mrs. Regina Thorne were among the temple visitors visi-tors at Salt Lake temple Wednesday. Vern Cullimore, local manager of Dixon-Taylor-Russell' Co. and Mrs. Laura Keetch attended a monthly meeting of the Dixon-Taylor-Russell Co. employes at Provo Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Pederson motored to Oasis, Utah, Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams, Mrs. Pederson and Mrs. Williams are sisters. Miss Bernice Boulter, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Amber Boulter and Jesse Frampton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frampton, were married at Provo Pro-vo last Thursday. To accomodate those above 16 who anticipate driving a car next year, and in accordance with the state law recently enacted, a man will be in Pleasant Grove next Wednesday, December 20th at the city hall to issue licenses to these applicants. A fee of 25c is charged for the license. The law requires all above 16 in this state to take out a driver's Hoense before driving a car after the first of the year. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Radmall were pleasantly surprised Thursday evening eve-ning by relatives and neighbors. Bishop and Mrs. David B. Thorne accompanied their daughter, Mae, and George J. Jacklin of American Fork, to the Salt Lake temple Thursday Thurs-day and witnessed their . marriage ceremony. - s Mrs. Ole Christiansen entertained Saturday evening in honor of the birthday of her daughter, Mrs. Norma Nor-ma Adamson. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Adamson and Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton attended a social at the home of I. R. Hilton Saturday evening. Miss Marie Williamson, a nurse at St. Marks hospital, visited Monday Mon-day and Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Williamson. Miss Ruth Broadbent of Lehi entertained en-tertained Wednesday evening at-a shower in honor of Miss Mae Thorne of Lindon, who was married December Decem-ber 14th. The Mothers club members are making plans for their annual Christmas social. Mrs. Arvilla Harvey Har-vey is chairman of the committee on arrangements. The Second ward Relief Society I members are preparing a banquet and ball which will be given Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, December 20th, in the Second ward chapel, to which the public is invited. Mrs. J. R. Halliday entertained at a surprise bridge luncheon Wednesday Wednes-day evening in honor of her husband's hus-band's birthday. Her invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Gamett, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Thorne and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jacobs. Mrs. Eleanor Slaugh, who has spent the past year with her children, child-ren, Mrs. Jennie Slaugh Phillips, Mrs. Nettie Slaugh Phillips and her sons, William and Frank, of Preston, Idaho, returned recently to her old home in Pleasant Grove and will; spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Ella Tomlinson. The Lindon M Men defeated the M men of the American Fork Third ward in a fast basketball game Tuesday Tues-day evening, the score being 43 to 24 in favor of the Lindon team. Tlie Windsor ward Sunshine committee com-mittee of the Relief Society, entertained enter-tained last Thursday afternoon, December De-cember 7th, in honor of Mrs. Marie Richardson, one of the oldest ladies in the ward. The social was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ver-la Ver-la Lowder. The following program was rendered: Singing "Catch the Sunshine"; solo, Sedley Jones; retold re-told story, Sylvia Morby; duet, Nona Baxter and Norma Hales; reading, Clara Muzzell. After the program a social hour and refreshments were enjoyed. Twenty five neighbors and friends were present. Miss Marjorie Holdaway entertained entertain-ed in honor of her niece, little Miss Shirley West. Twenty little guests enjoyed out-door games and dainty refreshments. Mrs. Reva Fugal assisted as-sisted Miss Holdaway in the entertaining enter-taining games for the guests. The Old Folks committee of the Windsor ward will hold a dancing party at the Lindon hall, Wednesday Wednes-day evening, December 20, for the purpose of raising funds to finance their winter Old Folks entertainment. entertain-ment. Adena and Douglass Beck, 2V year old twins of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Wes-ley J. Beck, were operated on Monday Mon-day for removal of tonsils Monday. Adena suffered a hemmorage Monday Mon-day night, but at last report they are feeling better. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. White and daughter Nina, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Olpin and family and Bishop and Mrs. Joseph Olpin of Heber, motor-er motor-er to Ephraim last week and enjoyed enjoy-ed a family reunion with Mr. and Mrs. Valton Mortensen and Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Hanson. Miss Beth White who has been visiting there for the past two weeks returned home with them. i |
